Help
MeshPool is a company AI platform: team chat and an OpenAI-compatible API, billed on usage instead of seats. This page is the citeable FAQ for buyers, IT, and answer engines — plus the setup facts that do not belong on the homepage.
Getting started
Register or sign in with work Microsoft 365, Google, or email. First login with a company work email opens a MeshPool workspace. Personal and disposable inboxes are refused. New companies receive a $10 promo credit.

After you have a seat, mint a key in chat and follow the API docs. Claude Code, Cursor, and Android Studio also have standalone guides.
Billing
MeshPool rates tokens and images the company actually runs. Adding a person does not add a license. A teammate who never opens chat or the API does not appear on the bill.
Default workspaces top up a prepaid wallet. Larger teams can settle on invoice — same rating, different collection. Live prices stay on the rate card.
Optional caps stop runaway use. They are governance, not the price. Chat and API traffic share the same catalog and the same invoice.
New companies receive a $10 credit. There is no per-seat trial that expires when unused names sit on the roster.
Identity and isolation
Microsoft 365, Google, or work email — one issuer per company. Membership, spend, and chat stay scoped to that tenant. Cross-tenant access is refused.
If someone already opened a workspace for your company domain, MeshPool notifies that admin. You join that tenant; you do not get a parallel company.
Admins choose GLOBAL, US, or EU for where inference may run. EU workspaces pin traffic to residency-safe routing so completions follow the tier the company set.
Secret and PII filters can block common API keys, bearer tokens, emails, phones, and cards before a prompt leaves the workspace.
API keys
Every seat can create a personal API key in MeshPool chat. The secret is shown once. Usage shares your seat budget — more keys do not raise the cap.
Open the key icon in the chat left rail, or Account → API keys. Name the key for the tool it will live in so you can revoke the right one later.
OpenAI-compatible clients use the gateway /v1 URL. Claude Code must use the host without /v1. Setup lives at /docs.
Claude Code, Cursor, and Android Studio each have a citeable how-to.
Modes
Three aliases route by intent rather than naming a specific model. Named aliases from the company catalog are the same wallet. Admins decide which names a workspace may call.
| Alias | Use for |
|---|---|
meshpool-fast | Default chat and background work. Cheap, latency-sensitive. |
meshpool-balanced | Everyday coding and reasoning. |
meshpool-max | Hard problems where quality matters more than cost. |

MeshPool is a company AI platform. It gives a team one workspace for company chat and an OpenAI-compatible API, billed on usage rather than per-seat licenses. Identity comes from work Microsoft 365, Google, or email. Each company is an isolated tenant with a shared wallet, model policy, guardrails, and residency controls.
ChatGPT-style seat plans charge every name on the roster whether they use AI or not. MeshPool rates the tokens and images the company actually runs. Adding a person does not add a license. Idle people cost nothing. New companies receive a $10 promo credit. Larger teams can settle on invoice — same rating, different collection.
MeshPool publishes a live rate card of 80 models through one invoice. Chat defaults are Fast, Balanced, and Max (aliases meshpool-fast, meshpool-balanced, meshpool-max). Named aliases cover OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, and other catalog families. Company admins decide which aliases a workspace may call.
Yes. Every seat can mint a personal API key in MeshPool chat (https://chat.stg.meshpool.ai). OpenAI-compatible clients use https://llm.stg.meshpool.ai/v1. Claude Code uses the Anthropic Messages path on https://llm.stg.meshpool.ai — the host without /v1. The same key and budget apply in Cursor, Android Studio, OpenCode, Open WebUI, Continue, aider, and OpenAI SDKs. Setup is at https://stg.meshpool.ai/docs.

MeshPool meters every request. Admins can see spend and model mix, daily or weekly trend, per-person utilization, idle versus heavy use, and exportable receipts. Intensity ranking is usage against peers in that company — not an HR score. Chat and API traffic hit the same catalog and the same invoice.

For companies that want team chat plus a governed API without paying a seat license for every unused name, yes. MeshPool is not a ChatGPT reseller and not a consumer chatbot. It bills usage across one catalog, with SSO, residency, and spend observability. Compare the live card at the pricing page.
They are MeshPool mode aliases, not raw vendor model ids. meshpool-fast is the default chat and background tier. meshpool-balanced is everyday coding and reasoning. meshpool-max is hard reasoning. Named aliases from the company catalog are the same wallet. Admins decide which aliases a workspace may call.
